Kelly claims his second win in five weeks, shooting a final-round 68

VICTORIA, B.C. (September 17, 2017) – PGA TOUR Champions rookie, Jerry Kelly, claimed his second win in five weeks, shooting a final-round 68 en route to a 14-under total and a one-shot victory at the 2017 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship. Trailing by one at the start of the day, Kelly took his first lead after he parred No. 4. In the final round, he hit all 13 fairways and 15 of 18 greens in regulation. With the win, he won $270,000 bumping up his season total to $1,121,577. He is the eighth player to win more than $1 million this season, and became the fourth player with multiple victories this season, joining Bernhard Langer (4), Scott McCarron (4) and Fred Couples (2). Four players held solo leads during Sunday's final round: Jerry Kelly, Lee Janzen, David McKenzie and Jerry Smith

Seeking his second win on PGA TOUR Champions, Lee Janzen led by three with four holes to play. He made bogey on No. 15, and on No. 17 he was forced to pitch-out sideways after hitting an errant drive. He hit the green with his third shot and then three-putted for double bogey, leaving him one shot behind Kelly with one hole to play. The runner-up finish is his fourth top-10 of the season and 13th in 70 career starts on PGA TOUR Champions.

Qualifier, David McKenzie, led by two after a birdie on No. 11, but he parred Nos. 12 and 13, both par 5s, and double bogeyed No. 14 to fall three shots behind Lee Janzen. He also double bogeyed No. 17, but a birdie on the 18th hole punctuated a final-round 71 and a T3 finish, two shots behind Kelly.

Rod Spittle carded a final-round 69 and finished T7 at 9-under, which was best among the three Canadians in the field. He and Stephen Ames (T17, -6) are two of the three Canadian victors on the PGA TOUR Champions. Victoria’s Jim Rutledge finished T65 at 8-over-par.

Tournament organizers have confirmed that there was a total event week attendance of 29,000. This is 2,000 more than the 2016 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship.

Canadian Stephen Ames Shoots 5-under 66; Sits Two Strokes Back of the Leaders

VICTORIA, B.C. (September 15, 2017) – American, Steve Flesch, birdied all four par 5s Friday en route to a bogey-free 7-under 64 and a share of the round-one Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship lead. It was his 11th consecutive round under-par and was his lowest round since he turned 50 on May 23.  The Cincinnati, Ohio native has two top-10s in 11 starts this season, with his best being a fifth-place finish at the Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship. Flesch is accompanied by Jerry Smith, who played Nos. 7-13 in 6-under en route to his 7-under 64, matching his lowest round of the season.

Canadian Stephen Ames shot 66 and is tied for seventh. Earlier this year, he won the Mitsubishi Electric Classic and became the third Canadian to win on PGA TOUR Champions.

Fan favourite, John Daly, opened with a bogey on the par-5 first, but made five birdies and an eagle to finish with a 6-under 65, tied for his best first round of the season. It is the fifth time he has shot 65 this season.

After taking the last two weeks off, Charles Schwab Cup leader, Bernhard Langer, opened eagle-birdie-birdie and was 4-under through three holes. He went on to make birdies on Nos. 12 and 13 and finished with a first-round 65. Last year in Victoria, he finished T7 after shooting a season-best 63 in the final round. This season, Langer has four wins and nine top-three finishes, and he has led the Schwab Cup standings 18 of the 20 weeks. He has won five of the last 10 senior majors, including three this year. His 10 major victories is most in PGA TOUR Champions history.

Defending champion Colin Montgomerie hit his third shot into the greenside hazard on No. 18, leading to a double bogey and a disappointing end to his first-round 71. The winner of last week’s JAPAN AIRLINES Championship, Montgomerie has tallied 16 consecutive rounds under-par and is currently No. 8 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.

Scott McCarron, last year’s runner-up and the No. 2 player in this year’s Charles Schwab Cup standings, opened with an even-par 72 and is tied for 37th.

This season, a first-round leader/co-leader has gone on to win four times. Bernhard Langer has done it three times (Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, and The Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex), and Jerry Kelly won the Boeing Classic in this fashion.

Tee off for round two is scheduled for 7:45 a.m. at Bear Mountain Golf Resort in Victoria, British Columbia.

He will join an elite field of golfers that include Charles Schwab Cup leader Bernhard Langer as well as PGA TOUR Champions winners Stephen Ames and Scott McCarron. The event will take place at Bear Mountain Golf Resort in Victoria, British Columbia the week of September 11-17, 2017.

"Looking forward to Grip it & Rip it for y'all at the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship!' said Daly, who in 1997 became the first PGA TOUR player to average more than 300 yards per drive over a full season.

Daly broke onto the professional golf scene in 1991 with a surprise win at the PGA Championship, earning a huge fan base and the Rookie of the Year Award. Known for his colourful personality, Daly will look to continue to build upon a solid 2017 season, where he currently sits at 21st  on the Charles Schwab Cup money list.

“We are thrilled that John will be joining this year’s field at the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship," said Tournament Director, Brad Parkins. "As one of the most recognizable names in the game, he is an exciting addition to the tournament.”

Four PGA TOUR Winners Commit to Playing in the 2017 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship

Four PGA TOUR Winners Commit to Playing in the 2017 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship

MEDIA KIT

Tom Lehman, Mark O’Meara, Jerry Kelly and Rocco Mediate all commit to competing in Victoria

VICTORIA, B.C. (August 10, 2017) – Tournament Organizers announced today that four golf stars have committed to playing in the 2017 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship; Tom Lehman, Mark O’Meara, Jerry Kelly and Rocco Mediate will all be joining the famed field. The event will take place at Bear Mountain Golf Resort in Victoria, British Columbia the week of September 11-17, 2017.

Tom Lehman, who currently sits ninth on the Charles Schwab Cup money list, is the only golfer in history to have been awarded Player of the Year honours on all three tours operated by the PGA: the PGA TOUR, Web.com Tour and PGA TOUR Champions. Lehman captured his first major title by winning the 1996 Open Championship at Royal Lytham. He broke the Links course record with a 64 in the third round. In 2009, Lehman became the 13th player to win his PGA TOUR Champions debut tournament. He teamed up with Bernhard Langer to win the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf in a playoff over Jeff Sluman and Craig Stadler. The Austin, Minnesota native has spent the last seven years on the PGA TOUR Champions, winning 10 tournaments.

Mark O’Meara has spent nearly 200 weeks in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Ranking from their debut in 1986 to 2000. In a late finale to his PGA TOUR career, O'Meara won two majors in 1998, The Masters and the Open Championship. In the same year, he also won the Cisco World Match Play Championship and reached a career best of second on the Official World Golf Ranking. In 2007, O'Meara began play on the PGA TOUR Champions and had numerous top-10 finishes in his first three seasons including several runner-up finishes. In 2010, he broke through with a win in the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf with Nick Price, followed by his first senior major victory in the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship. He was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2014 and was inducted in July 2015.  O'Meara has begun to develop a golf course design practice and is currently a brand ambassador of Pacific Links International.

Jerry Kelly is in his first year on the PGA TOUR Champions and currently sits at 24th on the Charles Schwab Cup money list. The Madison, Wisconsin native has won three PGA TOUR events in his career, with the most recent coming in 2009 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Kelly made his PGA TOUR Champions debut at the 2017 Chubb Classic, where he finished T3.

Rocco Mediate has won six times on the PGA TOUR and three times on PGA TOUR Champions. Mediate's most notable moment of his career came in the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines where he finished runner-up after losing the first sudden death hole after an 18-hole playoff to Tiger Woods. Mediate joined PGA TOUR Champions in 2013 and won in his debut at the Allianz Championship, the 16th PGA TOUR Champions player to do so. After shooting a 61 in the second round, he claimed victory over Bernhard Langer and Tom Pernice, Jr. with a birdie on the last hole. He won his second PGA TOUR Champions tournament that September, at the Shaw Charity Classic. In 2016, Mediate won his first senior major championship at the Senior PGA Championship, with a three stroke victory over the defending champion, Colin Montgomerie.

2005 Canadian Open Winner Discusses His Return to British Columbia in an Exclusive Interview

VICTORIA, B.C. (June 29, 2017) – Tournament Organizers have announced that 2005 Canadian Open winner and 1989 Open Championship winner Mark Calcavecchia has committed to playing in the 2017 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship. Calcavecchia has won two tournaments in British Columbia on the PGA TOUR; the 1997 Greater Vancouver Open at Northview and the 2005 Canadian Open at Shaughnessy. Calcavecchia also won the 2012 Montreal Championship on PGA TOUR Champions.

In the spirit of Canada Day, the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship will be offering a 15 % discount on all ticket options from July 1 – 31, 2017. Fans can enter promo code HAPPY150 to unlock this limited time offer at www.selectyourtickets.com

“Calc” as he is affectionately referred to by his fans, sat down with the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship staff to talk about his return to Canada.

You have a PGA TOUR Champions victory in Montreal and two PGA TOUR titles at the 1997 Greater Vancouver Open at Northview and the 2005 Canadian Open at Shaughnessy. Is there something about Canada that makes you perform at your best?

CALCAVECCHIA: “I’ve always had a good time in Canada. I’ve enjoyed the golf courses that we’ve played, I’ve enjoyed the people, and I’ve always said I like the beer. It’s just such a great place — especially in the summer. I’ve just always enjoyed playing up there. I’ve always said, winning the 2005 Canadian Open was the second biggest win of my career. I was happy to see we had a tournament up there on Vancouver Island. I think it’s a pretty cool course.”

You played in the 2016 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship. What was your experience like? What are you looking forward to this year?

CALCAVECCHIA: “Overall, it was great. I know I had a really good Sunday. I remember the scores were really low on Sunday. I think I shot six under and left with a really good taste in my mouth. I really enjoyed the area, the city — we went downtown a couple of times and did some sightseeing. It was a lot of fun. Everyone stays right there. The accommodations are fantastic, right there on Bear Mountain. You run into your friends at dinner. That one par three on the back nine (14), it was beautiful. I think the course is great and I’m looking forward to it again this year.

What has your experience been like playing on PGA TOUR Champions?

CALCAVECCHIA: “It’s been seven years now. It’s gone by really fast. I know time flies, but I can’t believe it’s been seven years. It’s been fun. I’ve won three times and had some other good chances to win, especially back in 2011 and 2012. I’ve let a few of them slip. That’s the nature of golf, you’re not going to win every time you have the chance, but it’s still fun. I still look forward to playing in tournaments and seeing where I finish.”

You wore bacon-themed pants in Iowa this year. Can we expect any bold fashion statements in Victoria at the Pacific Links Championship?

CALCAVECCHIA: “The bacon pants are only for Iowa. I’m not even sure if they are going to make an appearance next year, but we won’t worry about that now. I’m not a super flashy dresser by any means, so I feel a little weird in those pants. I’ll leave the crazy pants patterns to John Daly.”

What does it mean to have the support of your wife and two children?

CALCAVECCHIA: “It means a lot. My wife caddies for me most of the time. All but a couple tournaments a year actually. We have a good time out there, and she’s my biggest supporter and biggest fan and will do anything she can to help me. My kids are on the same boat. We still have a great relationship and I know they are pretty proud of their dad when he’s doing well. It’s a big help to have family support.”

What do you like to do when you’re not playing golf?

CALCAVECCHIA: “My wife and I both love music. We have seen a couple of great concerts lately. Two weeks ago in Des Moines we saw Tom Petty. Joe Walsh opened up for him, so it was a great concert. This last week we were in Nashville for the week and we saw Iron Maiden. We are good friends with the drummer, so that was another great show. People like to ask me all the time, what do you like to do other than playing golf? Going to concerts is right at the top of my list. It’s so much fun to go to concerts and listen to music. I love it.”

In some recent news, Brooks Koepka hit a 380 yard three-wood at the 2017 U.S. Open. What is your opinion on how the game is changing? How much do you credit technology and fitness to this change?

CALCAVECCHIA: “I see stuff like that and it does amaze me. The best I could do was use my three-wood and hit it about 250. To think a guy like Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson can fly it on the green really does amaze me as well as everybody else. You look at what kind of condition Brooks Koepka is in. He works out all the time, he’s strong as an ox, he's big and has a perfect swing. Along with the ball and driver technology allows him to hit 350-360 yard three-woods. I’m right with everyone else it amazes me.”

What is something you want achieve before your career concludes?

CALCAVECCHIA: “I am able to play the British Open three more years. It would be a complete miracle if I won that again at my age. But right now I would love to win more tournaments on the PGA TOUR Champions. I would like to win a major, whether that be the US Senior Open or the Senior PGA or the Senior British Open. Having one of those would really be a feather in my cap. I’ll be really playing toward that in the next two or three years. It’s kind of my remaining goal on the Champions Tour. I would love to win some tournaments, but to win a senior major would be great.”

Tournament to Offer Complimentary Event Hat With Ticket Purchase Leading up to Father’s Day

VICTORIA, BC (June 15, 2017) - Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship Tournament Organizers announced today that PGA TOUR Champions legends Fred Funk, Jay Haas and Paul Goydos have committed to playing in this year’s event, held at Bear Mountain Golf Resort in Victoria, BC. Organizers have also confirmed that in honour of Father’s Day, a special promotion will be available that includes a complimentary 2017 event hat with the purchase of any tournament ticket until June 18, 2017.

The three golfers join Colin Montgomerie, Bernhard Langer, Stephen Ames and Scott McCarron on the growing list of PGA TOUR Champions stars that have committed to the 2017 event to date. The latest additions to the Pacific Links Championship are all proud fathers that share the theme of unique and touching stories on the impact that golf has on fatherhood.

Jay Haas’ playing career includes nine PGA TOUR wins, including three PGA TOUR Champions major titles. His 2017 season has already included two top-five and five top-25 finishes. Despite his numerous playing achievements, Haas’ most memorable experience on the course came in 2015 when he was given the opportunity to select his son Bill Haas as a captain’s pick for the Presidents Cup - United States team. Bill could not have made his father more proud than by clinching the winning point for the Americans in the final match on Sunday. Bill was not the only Haas son to play professionally. Jay Haas Jr. made the PGA TOUR in 2006 and spent time on the Web.com Tour from 2007-2011.

Taylor Funk grew up in his father Fred’s footsteps, joining him on the road in his journey around the world while his dad accumulated eight PGA TOUR wins. Taylor recently finished his junior season of golf at the University of Texas, where he carded a career-low 65 at the NCAA Franklin Regional. Fred Funk’s PGA TOUR Champions career has included nine victories including three major titles.  His 2017 season already includes three top-five finishes to date.

Paul Goydos accumulated two wins in his PGA TOUR career to go along with four PGA TOUR Champions victories to date including the 2016 Charles Schwab Cup Championship. Paul however had to put his playing career on hold for 10 months in 2004 to provide care for his two young daughters. Since then, Goydos has juggled being a full-time single father on TOUR.

Colin Montgomerie, Bernhard Langer, Stephen Ames and Scott McCarron Commit to 2017 Event

Victoria, B.C. (June 1, 2017) – Tournament Organizers announced today that three of the top PGA TOUR Champions golfers have committed to playing in the 2017 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship. Charles Schwab Cup leader Bernhard Langer, along with PGA TOUR Champions winners Stephen Ames and Scott McCarron will join defending Champion Colin Montgomerie in this year’s field. The event will take place at Bear Mountain Golf Resort in Victoria, British Columbia the week of September 11-17, 2017.

Colin Montgomerie will look to defend his title after sinking a 15-foot birdie putt on the third playoff hole in 2016. The 53-year-old spent a vast majority of of his career competing on the European Tour, but has made a second home on PGA TOUR Champions, having won four tournaments to date. Montgomerie won a record eight European Tour Order of Merit titles, including seven in a row from 1993 through 1999. His 31 career victories, which are the most of any British player in Tour history, gave way to a World Golf Hall of Fame induction in 2013.

Coming off back to back victories at the Regions Tradition and KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, Bernhard Langer became the first player to earn a career senior grand slam. In doing so, Langer collected his ninth senior major, surpassing Jack Nicklaus for most senior majors victories ever. This is the fourth time Langer has won multiple majors in the same season. The two-time Masters Champion has surpassed US$1.6 million in earnings in just nine events this season alone. He will look to improve on his seventh-place finish at the 2016 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship.

Stephen Ames, who resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, starred on the PGA TOUR in the mid-2000s, earning four titles – including a breakthrough win at THE PLAYERS Championship in 2006. The 52-year-old made his PGA TOUR Champions debut in 2014. In April 2017, Ames secured his first PGA Tour Champions victory at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic. He shot a 66 in the final round to finish four strokes ahead of Bernhard Langer. He is the third Canadian to win on PGA TOUR Champions.

Scott McCarron will look to have another strong performance in this year’s event after nearly winning the tournament in 2016. The 51-year-old Sacramento, California native has had three PGA TOUR Champions wins in his career. His most recent victory came in February 2017, when he eagled the par-5 18th hole to win the Allianz Championship.

Tournament week will commence with Official Pro-Am’s on Wednesday and Thursday, where participating teams will play alongside a PGA TOUR Champions professional over 18 holes of premiere golf. Competitive action will follow with 54 holes of championship play from Friday to Sunday, with no cut.

Help Fill a Dream Returns as Official Charity Partner of the  2017 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship

MEDIA KIT

VICTORIA, B.C. (May 2, 2017) –  Pacific Links International and the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship Tournament Organizers are pleased to announce that Help Fill a Dream, a Victoria based charitable organization, will once again be the Official Charity Partner of the PGA TOUR Champions Event. After a successful partnership through the 2016 Event, raising over $80,000, both parties were keen to continue the relationship and build upon what was accomplished last year.

The Pacific Links Championship and Help Fill a Dream teams worked together on the 2016 Event to implement various charitable initiatives to not only raise funds, but awareness for the organization and the important work that it does for kids and families on Vancouver Island. Canadian PGA TOUR Star Graham DeLaet, on-site for the 2016 Event’s junior clinic, surprised Help Fill a Dream with a $10,000 cheque to help the organization grant more kids’ dreams and continue their work with improving the quality of life of sick children.

“Pacific Links is pleased once again to support Help Fill a Dream with their mission of making life better for children with serious illnesses. We sincerely hope our contribution helps in some way with the heartache and pain endured by these families. With generosity, we proudly support these families through this charity and hope you will join us in making a difference,” said Rudy Anderson, President at Pacific Links International.

Since 1986, Help Fill a Dream has made over 2,200 dreams come true. The organization believes that dreams come in all shapes and sizes. For a child, it may be to become a princess or pirate, to meet their favourite celebrity, or to travel to some exotic destination. For the parents, the Dream can be as simple as being by their child’s side while they are sick in the hospital or making a comfortable place for them when they are home. Each dream is tailored to provide the child with the experience of a lifetime. Dreams can replace frustration and despair with hope that is so essential for a child’s recovery. Help Fill a Dream works closely with hospital social workers and other healthcare professionals to positively impact children and families who are going through a difficult time.

“We, at Help Fill a Dream, are very proud to be named the charity partner for such an amazing event once again this year. It is a unique opportunity for us to highlight the power of dreams and to raise funds to make even more dreams come true,” said Craig Smith, Executive Director of Help Fill a Dream. “Our programming is focused on making life better for children with life-threatening conditions and we can only make that happen with the support of outstanding community partners like the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship. Every dream that we make come true creates moments of happiness and a lifetime of memories.”

The Event will once again be played at The Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa the week of Monday, September 11th – Sunday, September 17th, 2017. Tournament week will commence with Official Pro-Ams on Wednesday and Thursday, where participating teams will play alongside a PGA TOUR Champions professional over 18 holes of premiere golf. Trophy Design Contest Winner Announced for the 2017 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship

Trophy Design Contest Winner Announced for the 2017 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship

MEDIA KIT

VICTORIA, BC (April 18, 2017) - The Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship announced today the winner of the Event’s 2017 Trophy Design Contest. Tournament Organizers received many amazing submissions, making it a difficult choice to narrow down the designs to three finalists. Following the initial finalists selection, the trophy design contest was opened to the public to decide on the winner based on the majority of fan votes. After voting closed on April 12, it was determined that Patrick Belanger of Vancouver Island was the winner.

The Trophy Design Contest was launched with the aim of creating an opportunity for the community to take part in the inspiration behind the Official Trophy; one that represents the nature of golf in Canada, celebrates the winner, PGA TOUR Champions, the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship, and the scenic and natural landscape of the island.

The vision behind Belanger’s trophy design was based on a West Coast theme: carefully chosen natural and handcrafted materials in the fabrication of the trophy are reminiscent of the landscapes offered by Vancouver Island. A modern interpretation of a carved soapstone bear embracing a live edge piece of wood towering above will evoke a sense of belonging to this natural environment, where mountains meet the sea and the tall trees.

The front of the trophy has a blue coloured epoxy, filling the splitting gaps in the wood and mimicking the ocean surrounding the island (the Strait of Georgia and Juan de Fuca), while the top shape of the wood suggests the vistas of the Olympic Mountain Range. Etching of the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship logo in the wood is also visible on the front face. On the back of the trophy, the engraving represents a silhouette of the majestic tall pines and fir trees located in the surroundings of the Bear Mountain golf courses.

A silver metal plate of the PGA TOUR Champions logo is applied to the back, offering a touch of distinction and class to the overall look of the trophy. Use of natural materials in the fabrication screams “West Coast”, while the overall craftsmanship will add a touch of elegance and prestige to the trophy.

To view the winning trophy design, click HERE.

"The Trophy Design Contest was truly a success, with an overwhelming number of submissions as well as participation from the community in the fan voting process,” said Brad Parkins, Tournament Director. "We look forward to seeing the winning design come to life over the next few months, showcasing the landscapes of BC and the spirit of golf."

Paul Rober and Paul Shepherd were the other two trophy design contest finalists. Tournament Organizers would like to acknowledge their efforts and unique designs, making for a very close race in the end.

Belanger’s design will serve as the inspiration behind the 2017 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship Official Trophy, presented to the PGA TOUR Champions winner after the final putt drops on Sunday, September 17. Belanger will also be incorporated into the event’s closing ceremonies and trophy presentation.

Over the coming months, Tournament Organizers will work with local artists and natural resources to bring the 2017 Official Trophy design to life. Updates will be posted on the Event’s website and social channels.

The event will once again be played at The Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa from Monday, September 11th – Sunday, September 17th, 2017. Tournament week will commence with Official Pro-Am’s on Wednesday and Thursday, where participating teams will play alongside a PGA TOUR Champions professional over 18 holes of premiere golf. The largest sporting event held on Vancouver Island will see golf fans from across Canada watch PGA TOUR Champions legends, including 2016 Defending Champion Colin Montgomerie, compete this fall in the 2017 edition of the tournament. And there is no shortage of interest from other PGA TOUR Champions players: “It was a great experience. It’s a beautiful place. I think it’s a great golf course. We enjoyed our time in Victoria very much, and I’m looking forward to going back,” said Miguel Angel Jimenez, who finished T3 at the 2016 Pacific Links Championship and won this past week in a playoff at the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic.

Scott McCarron - runner up at the 2016 Pacific Links Championship - commented: “I love being up in Victoria. My mom is from near there, up in Kaslo, Canada, so we had some relatives come over and watch us play. Bear Mountain is a beautiful resort and a great golf course – I just love being up in the mountains. It’s one of my favorite places we played last year.”

Jeff Sluman agreed stating: “I thoroughly enjoyed the golf course, and fortunately played well. The crowds were terrific, and Victoria was one of the most beautiful, breathtaking places I’ve ever been in my life. I just really can’t wait to get back there and play it, see it again, and experience it a bit more. I was really overwhelmed with the whole event, and the surrounding area. I had never been to Victoria, and it won’t be the last time I’m there. I thought that much of it. I said, ‘If we didn’t have a place in Chicago, and wanted to spend the summer for three or four months someplace, this would be an ideal spot.’”

“It’s an absolutely beautiful place,” said Olin Browne. “The golf course was in very good condition. It was spectacular to go up there, Dan Matthews was a great host, and I thought the volunteers and everybody did a tremendous job with the golf course. It was a treat to be invited to go up there and play, and I’m looking forward to going back.”

You can also spot some of the golf stars that played in the 2016 event at the Masters this week, including Bernhard Langer, Larry Mize, Mark O'Meara,Vijay Singh, and Ian Woosnam.

The event will once again be played at The Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa the week of Monday, September 11th – Sunday, September 17th, 2017.
